Why bib the Royal Govnor closed the house of Burgesses?

Royal Governor Lord Dunmore dissolved the House of Burgesses in May 1774 in response to increasing tensions between the American colonies and the British Crown. He aimed to suppress the growing revolutionary sentiment and prevent the assembly from taking collective action against British policies, particularly in light of events like the Boston Tea Party.
