Where did William confessor come from?

There was no William Confessor.

King Edward, known as The Confessor was King of England until he died in January 1066.

He was succeeded by Harold Godwinson who was then deposed and killed by William of Normandy at The Battle of Hastings.

William became King William I and was also known as William the Conqueror.
