Why protect the jaguars?

Jaguars are being killed for: 1. their pelt. 2. Jaguars have little food source, so they prey on cattle, and get killed by the farmers for killing their cattle. 3. Jaguar habitats are slowly being destroyed. so they end up having nowhere to live.
