Where in earth can you find living things?

The Earth is a rock flying through space. On it's rind and beneath it's thin gas halo is a little zoo of which we are but one exhibit. We are part of the Earth and we are most certainly alive, thus, the Earth is alive. I think the real question here is: "Are the rocks alive?". Well, if they are, we do not possess the technology or patience to determine it. I would guess if rocks are sentient, it would take them thousands of years to complete a thought. Remember, some rocks are billions of years old.
