Is there an income tax in the City of Chicago IL?

No there is not currently a City Tax in the City of Chicago. Some have called for such a tax, but according to the State of Illinois Constitution, municipal governments have no right to impose income taxes. It will not be done any time soon as this will likely only run businesses, and those who will pay these taxes out of the City.
