How did the Plymouth settlers make a living?

Men did most of the harder work such as blacksmiths,building,shoe making,ect.

women did more of the not easier but simpler work for example,housework,paper making, they made the clothes, and where nurses. Although women did work they had to stay on the ship (the mayflower) while the men where building.
