the moon and its influence on the earths gravity. Also the earth is spinning, so its like sloshing water around a glass delicately.

WRONG! Normal waves (i.e. not tsunami) are built up by the wind blowing across the water's surface. The Moon (and Sun) control the tides, not waves. The Earth's rotation does NOT "slosh" the sea about. [Tsunami are thrown up by undersea earthquakes or, less commonly, major sediment slides down steep slopes.]
