How does facebook messenger arrange chat head?

So there is a person who I stop talking to anymore. We were close 3 months ago, but I decided to stop chating her. Its been 3 months already and she is still the first/ second person who I see online. I dont want to be rude and block her or anything. I just want to know if I am doing anything that keeps her at the top of online people in messenger.
