Puppies are born without teeth, but start to grow them in 2 - 3 weeks. At 8 weeks they will have a full set of 28 teeth, but some breeds may have less or more. At three months puppies will start losing their teeth and you may find one on the floor (it's normal.) The adult teeth shove the baby teeth which look hollow inside.
In some dogs especially once the dog is a 8 months to a year old the vet may have to pull a few extra teeth that will give the dogs mouth a better form. Some small dogs can have another tooth above another making it's lower jaw come forward and some of the lower teeth may come over the upper teeth giving the dog a poor bite for eating.
