How many Points for a lay up worth?

A layup is worth two points in Basketball. It is a close-range shot taken while moving toward the basket, typically made by shooting the ball off the backboard or directly into the hoop. If the player is fouled while making the layup and makes the shot, they may also receive a free throw worth one additional point.
