In Inkheart why doesnt dustfinger read the ending of the story when he has the chance in meggies bedroom?

Simply because he doesn't want to know the end of his story, we don't know how our lives are going to go, and for me at least I don't want to know, I want to find our along the way, he wants it the same way. Read the books they are awesome!
