To me this quote means that once you know and accept that you're going to die, and there is NO escaping it, you live life to the fullest extent possible. You notice and realize the little things, you realize what exactly is important to you, you realize the little things that you should be taking advantage of. You forget about everything that doesn't matter and you just learn how to live life.

Everyday people walk around thinking that's not going to happen to me, they think they're untouchable, immortal even, but most people don't realize, or really fully understand that at any moment, at anytime, the unthinkable can happen. I'm not sure if you can ever really accept death because you don't know what happens after that, you think of darkness and being alone. So instead of accepting it, we mostly write it off as if it just can't happen, and for that our eyes are closed. Like Morrie says we live life sleepwalking, never fully awake or aware, and it's sad but 98 percent of people do live life that way, but if tomorrow they were going to be told they would have one week to live, I'm sure the little nonsense things would matter so much more then they ever could have imagined, and I think it's really sad that it takes something as tragic as death for some people to really open their eyes and realize what they have and really deeply take time to apprieciate it.
