Advantages of usb 3.0

USB 3.0 (sometimes known as USB SS) is significantly faster than USB 2.0 as it has 8 pins instead of four, allowing for theoretically double data bandwidth.

It is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.0 also.
