Cans have been sealed with the food inside them in a protective environment, after opening them O2 comes in contact with the food and also with the tin which will start going rusty abd contaminate the food you will eat, take care!!!

Yes there is a chemical reaction between the aluminum and the oxygen. If you eat from the tin you could be giving yourself food poisoning.

This has to be one of the most unscientific answers I have ever read. You have mentioned three different materials... Tin is an element of its own, aluminum is completely different to this and for a metal to get rusty it must have iron in it.

Food poisoning is generally caused by bacteria not metals.

We still dnont have an answer that explains anything.

They dont make cans out of tin anymore, the inside of a can is coated with some lamination, you can keep things in an open can in the fridge, they even sell plastic covers to keep it fresher
