Many people have to deal with this but most of the audience never notices. When we are nervous our adrenal gland goes like a locomotive sending blood rushing to the face. Some people have a ruddier complexion than others so their faces appear redder. Here are some things you can do: Before speaking, jog, jump on the spot, run up and down the steps of the building or go outside and run down the block. This action calms the adrenal gland. A very wise old man told me once that when I spoke to a large audience or even to a boss, to imagine them with their pants down around their ankles sitting on the toilet! Well, I laughed so hard, but, I put it into practice and it made me realize that most of those people wouldn't have the guts to stand on a platform or stage and give a speech and I was proud of myself. It also made me realize we are all the same and no one is super special. Red-faced or not, I was getting the Word out on the subject I was passionate about. All in all, it really doesn't matter if your face is red because those who are there to listen are more interested in what you are saying than what color your face is. Good luck Marcy Practice in front of small groups of your friends, then eventually you won't get nervous.
