Are raccoons illegal to buy

It depends on where you live. In Texas(where I live), no, it is not. In fact, you can even take a raccoon and have it as a pet if you wanted. A friend of mine, he found a baby raccoon on his front porch, and he raised it as a pet. My neighbor has also owned a raccoon before, and the police knew that it was his, and they protested about it.
