What is So Important About the Aortic Valve?

The aortic value is located at the entrance to the aorta from the left ventricular chamber of the heart. This is an important position since it is the threshold of all of the newly oxygenated blood returning to the body.

When the value is dysfunctional, it limits the ability of the heart to properly pump blood. This disruption causes irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath or fainting, myocardial infarction, and in some cases lead to sudden death.
