Does being off birth control for 4 days cause spotting?

I'm no doctor, but I will say that it seems to have happened to me. I've been off BC for not quite 3 weeks yet, and I've had occasional spotting throughout the last 2 weeks with very mild cramping on/off every once in a while as well. (7/17/09) Seems odd, which is why I'm also trying to research this topic. From what I've been reading so far, this seems a pretty normal part of the process as the body tries to "reset" its cycles and adjust to its own hormones. Good luck!
