How does a person garnish a person's wage to satisfy a debt owed to them what are my options to collect a debt owed to me if the person will not pay can i garnish their wages?

What needs to happen is that a court order needs to be in place before wage garnishment can take place. I believe only a court judge can order wage garnishment.

You could sue the other party in small claims court - however, be advised that even if you win that case, it still doesn't guarantee that you will be paid - it does show that a judgment has been issued against the defendant, but collecting the debt is never guaranteed.
