Decca Navigator is a mariner's navigation system that uses a network of shore-based transmitters to provide position information for ships at sea. It operates by measuring the time it takes for radio signals from these transmitters to reach the receiver on the vessel. This data is then used to triangulate the ship's position with a high degree of accuracy. Although largely supplanted by GPS technology, Decca was historically significant in enhancing maritime navigation.
