Why would you use animals for medical research when they feel pain?

To develope vacines,medicines,research illnesses and diseases,develope surgical procedures and much more....the vast majority of medical testing is done on rats,mice,pigs and cows..they all feel pain and many die...

But if 10,000 laboratory rats die and provide the medical knowledge that can save the lives of 200 million children then its well worth it...
