Can you listen to CD-r discs on any CD player?

CD-R is designed to be played on any CD player, although some older players have compatibility issues, especially with cheap discs. Burning at a low speed (8x or 16x) might help.

Some good grade-A brands of blank disc:

Taiyo Yuden, MAM-A, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation

Grade-B brands with compatibility issues:

CMC Magnetics (Memorex, Verbatim), Ritek (Memorex, Maxell), various others
