How much does a big block Chevy engine weigh?

hotrod had an article comparing all the big blocks years ago-the Chevy was the heaviest if memory serves.they said about 650 pounds without the trans.if i recall the 455 Buick was the lightest at about 450 lbs.aluminum heads and or intake would make it a lot lighter though.
