Does an autobiography have to be in chronological order?

It is usual to see any biography written in chronological order but it certainly doesn't have to be. A biography that recalls adult life before bringing up (for example) a pivotal moment from childhood that explains or justifies adult behavior can be considered to be perfectly valid.
