Are self absorbed people insecure

Some may be, but it is too sweeping an opinion to be applied to all people who seem self-absorbed. Some may be particularly brilliant, and spend what seems to us to be too much time in their creative heads. Others may be somewhere on the higher end of the Autism spectrum. People come in wide varieties; some may not be wired for as much social interaction as others. This doesn't automatically mean that they have a problem.
