Yes. They were very rich. I hear first hand from a recording studio in Nashville that her parents "dropped a million and a half dollars" getting her songwriters, recording time, artist consultation, etc.

I've also heard the rumor that her dad paid 2 million dollars directly to the record label to get her signed. This may or may not be true, though.
