Where did killer Kane go after he kidnapped max in Freak the Mighty?

After kidnapping Max in "Freak the Mighty," Killer Kane takes him to a hideout in an abandoned building. He hopes to keep Max away from his friends and ultimately seeks to manipulate him. Max, however, uses his resourcefulness and the bond with his friend Kevin (Freak) to find a way to escape from Kane's control.
