How do you make the keyboard on your phone turn side ways when you turn it?

I have an iphone and It took me a while to figure out how to do this. Simply hold the phone so the edges are facing sideways or vertically up/down depending on the way you want to turn the keyboard. Then wait a few seconds and the keyboard should move so it is correctly aligned with it's current position (so the Keys are the right way up). This is a much easier way than randomly shaking your device which could possibly damage it.

Note this may not work for devices other than an iphone or ipad.
