A niche includes adaptations (structural, behavioral and physiological), habitat, feeding habits (what is eats, what eats it) and activity (nocturnal or diurnal) so:
Adaptations: They have long hind legs to be able to spring forward long distances to avoid/escape predators they have an exoskeleton for protection and are camouflaged colour to prevent being seen easily.
Habitat: Grasshoppers tend to live in low grass land, pastures, fields, meadows and swamps.
Feeding habits: Grasshoppers are herbivores and feed upon grass, leaves and small plants. Their predators include birds, rodents, reptiles and other small mammals.
Activity: Grasshoppers feed day and night, sleeping small amounts during the night so are technically diurnal.
