In many cultures the owl is a symbol of wisdom. Depicting an owl bind-folded would therefore symbolise an obstruction on knowledge or hiding the truth.

Some cultures interpret the owl as a carrier of visions. In this case a blind-fold would be an attempt not to see into the future.

In some divinations an owl represents the death of a friend or loved one. The blind-fold representing the randomness of death and our inability to see who the death is for.

Or alternately an owl can be interpreted as gossip or scandal. The blindfold here standing for the unknown source.
