Do herons prey on adult ducks?

Herons primarily feed on fish, amphibians, and small invertebrates, but they are opportunistic feeders and may occasionally target smaller birds or their young. While adult ducks are generally too large for most herons to successfully catch, a heron might attack weak or injured individuals. However, it is not a common behavior for herons to prey on healthy adult ducks.
