Why do the gonads sometimes appear large?

The gonads can appear enlarged due to various factors, including hormonal changes, infections, tumors, or conditions such as testicular torsion or ovarian cysts. In males, conditions like varicocele or epididymitis can lead to swelling. In females, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome or the presence of large cysts can cause enlargement. Additionally, certain genetic or developmental disorders can also result in larger-than-normal gonads.
