Each part of the car has a difference service interval. For instance, your "Maint" light will begin flashing every 4500 miles when you start the engine subtly telling you it's time for an oil change. The light comes on solid at 5000 miles. Other parts are maintained at different intervals. The six-cylinder engine needs a new camshaft drive belt at 90,000 miles, spark plugs get replaced at 100,000 miles while the first coolant replacement is scheduled at ten years after manufacture. Obviously tires, brakes, accessory drive belts etc have different schedules.
There should have been a maintenance schedule addendum to your owner's manual when the car was purchased. If that's been lost you can download the entire schedule (and a lot more) at toyotaownersonline.com .
Cheers
