The best way to answer this question is that contrary to popular belief it does not matter necessarily whether you use a truck mount system as compared to a good portable system. A good portable like what I use has dual two stage vacuums and a 250 psi pump and heats to between 190 - 200 degrees. This is more than sufficient for any cleaning job. As for truck mount systems if you have a knowledgeable tech operating it you will be satisfied. The problems arise when you have someone operating the system that is not experienced or trained well. They can have the pumps psi turned up too high and over wet the carpet leaving a very long drying time, sometimes as long as two to three days which will lead to mildew and very sour smelling carpets. The best thing to do is ask the right questions about the tech and his experience because with the right person the job will always be done right regardless of the system he is using.
