When did Texaco close?

Texaco, now a brand of Chevron Corporation, did not completely close but underwent significant changes in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2001, Texaco merged with Chevron, and the Texaco brand continued to operate in various capacities. The Texaco name has largely been phased out in favor of the Chevron brand, but some Texaco stations still exist today.
