If you have a difibulater pace maker inside you can you turn it off for a while and keep it inside you?

simply... no.... defeats the purpose for one.... the defib is there as a backup if your heart fails to maintain its pace or goes too fast it will shock the heart back into rhythm. plus the liability of turning it off... even at the patients request would be astronimical. only at end of life does this occur.
