To substitute for 1 teaspoon allspice, you can use either of the two following combinations:

• 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground cloves
• 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. ground cloves, 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
