HINT: PRINT THIS PAGE AND TAKE OUT TO CAR! Simplest way to do it is: Fisrt drain all the coolant by undoing bottom hose if it's old. If it's nearly 12 mths or more it's old! If coolant is fresh you are going to lose some by just going to the next step. Undo the two nuts holding the thermostat cover on, remove cover and engine lifting eye. Remove thermostat from inside the opening.(Observing which way is UP) Replace thermostat AND the sealing ring with NEW parts (especially the seal). Refit nuts, DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! Refill correct Coolant mix (50% Ethylene Glycol)through the reservoir. Start engine with reservoir cap OFF,top up with coolant as level drops, but DO NOT overfill!.... run until Temp guage is at normal and NO air bubbles are visible, then replace cap. Check for any leaks under pressure when hot and recheck for correct Coolant level. Recheck levels before and after next drive. Then it should remain constant.
