No! "He that ruleth among men must be just - ruling in the fear of God". The separation of church and state has been overused for far too long, in my opinion, to "keep God out of politics". Far be it from me to justify the abuses of state-run churches; but I am so tired of the way we have presumed that religion ought to sit in the corner and suck its thumb while the rest of the world gets on with real living. It sure will not always be this way. Whether we believe it or not, God made this world, and is the one that instituted government in the first place. As we read in the Second Psalm (of the Holy Scriptures, of course): Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together and against the LORD, and against his annointed, saying, "Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us". He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh - the LORD shall have them in derision...

No, indeed, things will not always be the way they are right now. God will have the last laugh - and I shudder to think of how it will terrify and vex his enemies when he has finally had enough. (By the way, "his annointed", of course, refers to Jesus Christ, whom we crucified and still crucify (or at least pathetically try to - I guess it's kind of hard to when he's already seated in glory now!) You don't crucify the King's Son! Bad idea!)
