I love this question, everyone who has a favorite pet always wonders if they'll be re-united with their pet in Heaven. Dogs do not have a soul per se, they are simply animals that have no need for being 'saved'. This is because, by their nature, they simply can not reason and thus can not sin or understand the concept of Jesus Christ. However, do not be forlorn or feel as if the dog is gone for good, because there's no theological revelation given to us yet that says a dog couldn't be in Heaven.
In my opinion, if God thinks that you would be happy in Heaven with a dog, then I am sure one will be provided for you. If you had a favorite pet or two, God can easily recreate them for you to have as a pet for all eternity. Heaven is bliss and pure happiness, and the love of a fine pet certainly can be a part of that!
Answer: Awake 4/22/O4 on Jehovah's Witnesses official website had this to say: It is good to remember, though, that The Bible emphasizes the distinction between humans and animals. Humans, not animals were made in the image and likeness of God.' (Genesis 1:26) And whereas animals were created with a limited lifespan, humans had the prospect of living on earth forever. Our Creator must be pleased when we take delight in his animal creations and show them loving consideration. Of course it can be sad, even tragic, to see a beloved pet die. But even in such a case there is room for balance. Animals were not created in God's image, nor were they meant to live forever as were humans. Regarding the way God made humans, the Bible says: "He has even put eternity into their minds." Yet nothing like this can be said of animals. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
All good people are not going to heaven, Psalms 37:29 says "The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever upon it."
