Why do people mistake wiccan for devil worshippers?

That is because both religions have a pentacle. However, Satanists have an inverted, or upside down, pentacle. Oh, and Satanists actually don't worship the devil, that is a common misconception. I would explain further, but that is a whole different topic. :)
