When do you need a sump pump installed?

Whenever you have an area which is below surface ground level and is capable of retaining water.

For example: A basement or crawl space beneath a home or building, a pitched driveway delivery dock and even a low spot in the yard can utilize a sump pump.

Sump pumps to need to be replaced over time, but the frequency is not easily gauged. Some models up sump pumps are made from materials which prefer to be kept "wet" (most common) while others don't do well while being constantly submerged.
