Why does Microsoft make the crappiest computers on earth?

Microsoft does not make personal computers. They make the software/Operating System that allows your computer to operate. Companies like DELL, HP, ASUS, Acer, Sony, etc. make the actual physical computers (Hardware). And Microsoft's Operating system is what makes them work; which is called Windows. There are different versions of Windows, the most Current are: XP, Vista, Windows 7, and soon to come is Windows 8.

Macs are different because Apple makes the physical computer and the operating system which allows the computer to run. Apple computer's personal computers are know as MACs'. And the Operating system is called OSX. There are different types of OSX, such as: Snow Leopard and Lion. The notion that Apple makes their own Computers and Operating system is one of their major selling points "Everything just works" (Steve Jobs).

Another not so common, but FREE and underrated Operating System is known as Linux. Similar to OSX and Windows, Linux has different Distributions (versions) such as Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Fedora, and Slackware. Linux can be run on any computer, and has the most variety of the three companies we just talked about.
