German society denied it at first because they couldn't believe this was happening in their own country and then when they did come to the realization of the atrocities they were terrified of fighting back for fear of their own families being thrown into concentration camps or even death if they dared to go against Hitler. He had a zero tolerance level. Some German soldiers were even brave enough to try to save as many Jews as they could. One officer running a munitions factories (making bullets) lied to Hitler saying that they needed the children to make more bullets, but the fact was, the children were simply handling empty shells. The officer did this to protect the children and he did. Many German citizens would hide Jews.

Many countries in the world didn't realize what Germany was up too and the U.S. didn't want to get involved in this problem and at first Canada didn't either, but eventually the two countries did invade Germany. Some people ran out of the country and others stayed and tried to fight. lfhkusdfhalkds
