What is the engine oil capacity for a 1977 Porsche 911?

With a filter change, roughly 10 quarts. First add 9 quarts, Warm up engine to operating temp and park on level ground. Oil level is then checked with engine idling at 190 deg F with dipstick in engine compartment. The oil level gauge in the left side of dash instruments is not to be trusted. More than 10 qts will result in over filling and oil coming out of the exhaust in white smoke and getting into the engine through the breather hose into the intake area of the CIS F.I. system.
