Captain James Cook primarily used three types of ships during his voyages: the bark, the frigate, and the longboat. His most famous vessel, the HMS Endeavour, was a bark, characterized by its three masts and ability to carry cargo. He also commanded the HMS Resolution and HMS Adventure, both frigates, which were built for speed and maneuverability. Longboats were used for smaller, more agile missions and landings during his explorations.
