Hi there...absolutely! When a cat burps it is simply gas leaving their bodies. Gorging food quickly may cause a cat to swallow air. Extra gas escapes from the stomach, travels up the esophagus and comes out the mouth. It doesn't usually leave slowly. Gas can quickly escape which is when you will hear them burp. Cats can even get hiccups. There is a muscle that is located between a cats lungs and their abdomen called the diaphragm. Hiccups happen when a diaphragm gets irritated and then spasms.
