How long does it take tulips to bloom?

You plant tulip bulbs in the fall. During most of the winter, the bulb is dormant. Then the weather warms and the bulb starts to grow. If you are growing tulips from seed, the seeds germinate in 60-90 days but it may take 5-7 years to flower.
