How do you install spring-torsion on grass deflector of Murray riding lawn mower?

If the spring has a hole in the deflector, you must put it there first. Then it is a matter of will and force. The rod that attaches it must be inserted slowly from front to rear and slowly fltting out the spring to do its intended job (not allowing the injury of the operator or bystanders) Not really a fun job but patience pays off.
