You should first find out how he feels about other gay people (NOT YOU). If he says he really hates them, then you have a problem. If he doesn't have any objections to gay people then you're over the first hurdle.
He's not going to come out and tell you he's gay unless he's feeling in a safe and welcoming environment. So you have to start talking a bit about YOURSELF.
Tell him something like: 'Hey, I like that football player!' and see how he reacts. If he seems hostile, you can explain that it's because he's a GOOD football player. If he agrees, then that's a little step further forward.
Then you tell him something else ABOUT YOURSELF that's a LITTLE more revealing. Maybe erections in the school showers or something. See how he reacts, and either pull back or go forward.
And carry on like that...
It may be in the end that he's NOT gay, but he has no problem with you being gay. Then you get a supportive friend that you can rely on. That's worth something.
if anything you could just come out and ask him if he is gay and if he says yes or kinda hesitates and says no (then he most likely is) then you could possibly tell him about your self and possibly ask him out that way. Im gay and that's how i asked my now husband ut is i jst asked him if he was gay and he said no at first but then i got it out of him by being there and slowly gaining his trust we have been together for almost6 years actually it will be 6 years next Thursday April 2nd so don't be scared jut do it
